Reduce High Blood Pressure Naturally

  1. Physical exercise is a must for high blood pressure patients. Brisk walking for 30-45 mins twice daily can significantly reduce high blood pressure.
  2. Light Yoga, pranayama and meditation practices have benefited high blood pressure patients hugely. For the right yoga poses and meditation regime pls contact a yoga guru.
  3. Other forms of exercises like swimming, cycling, jogging, aerobics, free hand exercises, skipping etc all tend to lower blood pressure.
  4. Lead a stress free life, get 8 hours of daily sleep.
  5. Stop smoking and limit or stop alcohol intake.
  6. Stop raw salt intake totally. Table salt must be completely avoided.
  7. Less oil must be used for cooking food, that too white oil must be used better if Olive oil can be used.
  8. Powdered Mint leaves significantly reduce blood pressure. Take 2 tablespoons twice a day to reduce high blood pressure.
  9. Garlic the wonder medicine reduces high blood pressure. Both raw and cooked garlic help control high blood pressure and at the same time reduce cholesterol levels. Garlic helps relax blood vessels by stimulating the production of nitric oxide and hydrogen sulphide. Eat one or two cloves of slightly crushed garlic daily. You can simply crush them with your hands. Crushing garlic cloves creates hydrogen sulfide, a compound that promotes good blood flow, removes gas and reduces the pressure on the heart. 
  10. Lemon keeps high blood pressure under control by adding to the strength of capillaries. Regular consumption of lemon juice squeezed into water without salt or sugar will serve to control blood pressure by controlling the wear and tear of arteries with its invaluable Vitamin P content.
  11. Similar to lemon juice, grapes also serve to reduce blood pressure with its Vitamin P content.
  12. Gooseberry also serves to keep blood pressure under control. Gooseberry mixed with honey should be taken every morning.
  13. Dried and roasted seeds of watermelon also serve to reduce blood pressure by dilating the blood vessels.
  14. Consumption of vegetables including potato, parsley, carrot and spinach play significant role in reducing blood pressure. Juice made out of raw spinach and carrot works to reduce blood pressure with two glasses being taken twice a day.
  15. Celery and broccoli reduce blood pressure due to their phytochemical content. The high level of the phytochemical 3-N-butylphthalide present in celery greatly helps control high blood pressure. Phthalides help relax the muscles in and around arterial walls, thereby creating more space and allowing the blood to flow in without difficulty.
  16. Fruits rich in Vitamin B, sodium and potassium such as banana, grapes, oranges and apricots also serve to improve the circulatory system.
  17. Coconut Water People with high blood pressure must keep their bodies well hydrated. It is a good idea to drink eight to 10 glasses of water daily. Coconut water is particularly beneficial for lowering blood pressure.
